Financial Intelligence Centre Act: FICA was introduced on the 1st of July 2003 to protect businesses and individuals against financial crimes. As a provider, we are required by law to FICA your business to protect your business, our business and South African consumers.
How to get FICA approved
Simply send your FICA documents to the online sales email address in order to get FICA approved:
Speed Up Your Application
Please put the following information in your subject line:
- Store branch
- Device serial number (find it on the back of your card machine)
- Your contact number
Example: Game Gateway 1910002511 (072 222 7000)
Once sent, we'll get back to you with confirmation of your FICA status.
FICA requirements
To activate your iKhokha card machine, please provide the following documents:

Why We FICA
FICA protects you from financial crimes such as:
- Money laundering
- Corruption
- Terrorism financing
- Tax evasion
You have to be FICA approved before you can trade with an iKhokha card machine.
Consequences for non-compliance
Since FICA is a legal requirement, consequences for you and iKhokha for non-compliance are:
- A R100 million penalty or up to 15 years imprisonment for your company's directors.
- iKhokha may also either be fined R100 million or lose its FICA license.
