How to do a prepaid balance top-up from Capitec via EFT
If you bank with Capitec, and you want to top up your IK Prepaid Balance using an electronic transfer from your bank, make sure you use your Prepaid Balance ID as the Beneficiary Reference
Find your Prepaid Balance ID in the Ikhokha App:
- Open the app and tap on Prepaid:
- Now tap on Prepaid Balance:
- Here you will see your prepaid balance ID:
Top up your Prepaid Balance from your Capitec banking app:
Log into your Capitec Banking app or bank profile online and add a new beneficiary:
Bank: ABSA
Account number: 409 900 3807
Branch: 632 005
Account name: ikhokha
Account type: Current
Reference number: [Your Ikhokha Prepaid Balance ID]
When you make the payment, you will need to change the Beneficiary Reference from your initials and surname to your IK Prepaid Balance ID.
Your bank will automatically add your name as a Beneficiary Reference as shown in this example:
Remove your name from the Beneficiary Reference field on the app:
Use the Prepaid Balance ID as your Beneficiary Reference without anything else typed into the field:
This will make sure our systems know where to allocate your funds to - your own IK Prepaid Wallet!
