Enable iK Tap on Phone and start accepting tap and go payments on your smartphone.
iK Tap on Phone is a new payment method available on the iKhokha app that allows you to start taking tap and go payments using only your Android NFC enabled smartphone.
Here's how to enable Tap on Phone in the app:
- Make sure your NFC function is active on your phone
- Go to Settings
- Look for the option in the list that says "Select Card Machine Type" or "BT Devices"
- Look for the option at the bottom of the list that says "Enable Tap on Phone"
- Tap the grey switch to enable the feature
- The app will take a few seconds to enable the feature
- Once the switch turns green you are ready to start taking payments with your phone.
Q: What if I don't see the option to enable Tap on Phone?

Make sure you have the latest version* of the iKhokha app installed

Go to Settings > Help > About Device, and check that “Device Supports Tap on Phone” is “YES”

Make sure you have the correct version of Android (Version 9 or higher)

Make sure you have an NFC enabled device (check your manufacturer specifications).
Q: Why does it take so long to switch this feature on?
A: When you enable iK Tap on Phone, we do a few checks to ensure your phone is capable and secure enough to take card payments safely. Once the checks are done, your device is “registered” on our servers and will receive the necessary security updates to ensure that card payments are always secure.
Q: What if I get a "Verification Failed" when trying to enable Tap on Phone?
