Which Android phones are compatible with iK Tap on Phone?
With iK Tap on Phone, you can turn your Android smartphone into a card machine to accept card payments. Most modern Android phones already support this feature - here's how to check if you can use iK Tap on Phone on your smartphone.
Is your phone compatible?
Your Android phone works with iK Tap on Phone if it has:
- NFC (Near-Field Communication), which lets your phone read tap-to-pay cards
- Android 9 or higher
How to check
Check for NFC:
- Open your phone's Settings
- Search "NFC" using the search bar at the top (or look under Connected devices; this may vary slightly between phone brands)
- If you see an NFC toggle, your phone has it
Check your Android version:
- Open Settings
- Go to About phone
- Check the Android version - it needs to read 9 or higher
If your phone doesn't have NFC
A small number of older Android phones don't have NFC hardware. This can't be added through a software update. If that's the case for you, you might want to look into buying an iKhokha card machine to accept card payments.
