How to Process a Prepaid Utility Voucher?

Process a Prepaid Utility Voucher (Electricity, Water, Gas)

Customers can purchase prepaid utilities like electricity, water, or gas directly from the Prepaid section in the iKhokha App, and pay using either card or cash.

How it works:

1. Open the iKhokha App
2. Tap Prepaid
3. Select Prepaid Utilities
4. Choose Electricity, Water, or Gas

Enter purchase details:

1. Select a preset amount or enter a custom amount
2. Enter the Customer Meter Number
3. Tap Submit

The system will retrieve and display the customer details (meter number, name, and address).

Confirm & proceed:

1. Review the details and tap Continue
2. Tap Checkout

Complete payment:

1. Choose a payment method:

• Card (tap or insert card)
• Cash (accept cash payment)

How payment works:

• Cash payments:
  The transaction is completed using the merchant’s Prepaid Balance, which is deducted immediately.
• Card payments:
  The transaction is processed as a normal card purchase (CDP). The funds settle into the merchant’s account as per the standard settlement process, while the Prepaid Balance is debited to fund and complete the prepaid transaction.

Commission:

• The merchant earns commission on prepaid transactions
• Commission accumulates as part of prepaid earnings and is paid out separately
